This study submit an investigation of the aqueous extract of peel of potato as an inhibitor for corrosion mild steel in potable water systems

الوصف الكامل (Full Abstract)

The inhibition effect of the extract of peel of potato on the corrosion of mild steel in potable water have been studied by using an electrochemical polarization and weight loss method. The results obtained appear, that, the extract of peel of potato can be work as an effective inhibitor versus the corrosion of mild steel in potable water network. The inhibition percentage increases with the rising of the peel of potato concentration at room temperature. The inhibitor percentage efficiency above (98 %) was reached at extract of peel of potato concentration (1% v/v). The inhibition efficiency of the extract of peel of potato obtained from polarization curves and weight loss were in good approval. electrochemical polarization studies clearly indicate that the extract of peel of potato behaves firstly as an anodic inhibitor. The sudy also shows that the inhibition efficiency was niggardly affected by the rise of temperature of the water.
